When you arrive in your assigned room in the university dorms, a surprise is waiting for you on the table in the small kitchenette. It is something unlike anything you might have seen before, some kind of mechanical, technological device. It looks unresponsive.
On a note next to it is written:
Welcome to London, 2025.
This is a mobile phone. It is the primary means of direct communication in the world of today. We have supplied you with your own, and you are welcome to use it or not use it as you see fit, but we have chosen not to attach directions on how under any circumstances. The assignment this month is that you figure out yourself how to work a mobile phone successfully.
